This Moskva/Москва Watch is currently available on the Bay.
Are the hands original (central second is quite shiny!)?
I like the case-back. Any idea why it is so thick and domed?
Does the movement (type?) seem repaired or not?

Looking good. I don't know about the case back. Look here:

Hands are often the best looking parts of an old watch since, unlike the case, they are protected and usually finished much more durably than the dial.

Movement looks complete. Case back is domed, probably, to clear added thickness of the old movements with central second hands.

I've seen that most of Mark's Moskva sport a similarly pristine second hand. No photograph of the domed back though. Well, as anyone seen such a bowl in a Soviet watch?

Also, is that a M41 movement?

PS: Why would the movement be housed in the back rather than in the actual case? Was it perhaps cheaper to bowl-shape the back than to machine a thicker case?
At any rate, I hope to be soon able to experience the feeling of the case-back on the wrist... possibly a kind of acupressure treatment.

I would think that the domed back preceded the development of the thicker case (or thinner central second movement) and was easier to supply than a new case design. Kind of similar to the use of a more domed amphibian back for the autos instead of a completely new case.

Most of the movement is in the case (all of the body) with the exception of the extra layer of gears needed to operate the central second which, apparently, projected out of the case, necessitating a domed back.

I'm repeating myself! Sorry, I don't know what an M41 movement is. First few Google hits were no help, either.

Can't tell if your selection has hacking movement. Those with hacking movement have jewels set below the surface of the train bridge and I can't make up my mind about the one you posted. How is it advertised?

As far as I can tell there's been two generations of the Moskva, first with this type of movement with "piggyback" 4th wheel, a development of the Pobeda. Then with the advent of the 2408 Kirovskie and derivatives, it's also used in the Moskva which obviously makes the watch slimmer. The second version appears to be less common.
