Looking good. I don't know about the case back. Look here:Hi!
This Moskva/Москва Watch is currently available on the Bay.
Are the hands original (central second is quite shiny!)?
I like the case-back. Any idea why it is so thick and domed?
Does the movement (type?) seem repaired or not?
Thanks!
I would think that the domed back preceded the development of the thicker case (or thinner central second movement) and was easier to supply than a new case design. Kind of similar to the use of a more domed amphibian back for the autos instead of a completely new case.I've seen that most of Mark's Moskva sport a similarly pristine second hand. No photograph of the domed back though. Well, as anyone seen such a bowl in a Soviet watch?
Also, is that a M41 movement?
Thanks!
PS: Why would the movement be housed in the back rather than in the actual case? Was it perhaps cheaper to bowl-shape the back than to machine a thicker case?
At any rate, I hope to be soon able to experience the feeling of the case-back on the wrist... possibly a kind of acupressure treatment.
