After being here for a year or so,looking at all the praise given for Seiko,I have decided to go and get myself a Seiko for my 28th bday, and since I'm more into sportier watches (The likes of Panerai) so I decided to buy this particular Seiko

without any more boring details, let's go to the pictures I took using my iPhone:

Collecting the package in the post office

Finally back home to open it up

Unboxing the JP post box

Thanks to Katsu-San for the lovely goodies in the box

Getting closer

Really plain box

Oopsie, there's a small sticker on the box telling me what it is

What's inside?

Comparison with Pam 177

Finally,wrist shot:

Hope you like it,so far,it is an awesome value for money, and it felt smaller than Panerai due to the shorter lug to lug

@splinter faction: yes,it is Japanese thing,I think it is a thank you card (any members that are more knowledgeable in Japanese culture, please feel free to fill us in)

@V76: thanks a lot :)

@kittysafe: it is the shroud, that gives this watch the "tuna" nickname,it can be removed using the L key if I want to clean up the watch case too

The surprise items in the box are great. Is that a Japanese thing?
There is a gift-giving culture in Japan. It's normal to give gifts when visiting someone or during more personal business meetings or transactions. I suppose sending a package to your doorstep is sort of like visiting, and also a business transaction, which makes it more personal. I always get some small trinket whenever I buy something online from Japan. :)

Nice watch too

Quite a first Seiko. That's how you jump in with both feet!

It cheered me up to see a yuupaku box again after being away for a while. There was a time when I used to send and receive those a lot.

Most people go for the quartz Tuna. What made you pick the auto? Is it 6R15 or a step up from that?

Thanks for all the comments, and I actually forgot to add on the OP that my birthday is actually in late-May,but it took a while to order this watch and to pick it up to HK

I ordered this watch from higuchi, there should be info about this seller's homepage all over WUS

As for the movements,it has 8L35 which I heard is the undecorated version of the auto movt being used on GS,I'm afraid to buy the quartz version because I'm afraid the local watch guy cannot do the battery change (everything have to be removed from the front on the 1000 m model)
