Postman arrived this morning with a small package, marked with a Russia Post logo !

My new Kommandirskie !

This one shipped minus a watchband, so I put it straight onto a NATO regimental, with a sort-of nautical theme. Works for me.

I was sold on the simple bezel design of this watch, and the super elegant dial. I am not familiar with the story behind the dial, or the bezel in this case. Can any readers fill me in with the details on this watch please ?

Anyway, a quick wind, and a few gentle taps on the back .... she kicks into life once more. Tick tick tick tick tick tick

Its actually pretty hard to describe just how damn fine this little watch is - it photos up well enough, but it has an immense amount of character that is hard to capture with either camera lens, or mere words on a computer screen.

It is a cherished item, from a bygone era ... made with love and made to last.

Looks like a komandirskie "mini", all the characteristics of the larger komandirskie dive watches in a slightly smaller size. There are several different case and bezel styles and quite a few different dials but the hands were invariably the daggers like yours. I've never seen that bezel before, is it fixed? Nice looking watch/band combination.
