My newest 24 hour watch, the Sheffield AM/PM

I recently saw this on eBay and had to have it. Here's an ad photo. The band in this picture is what was on it when I got it.

I felt it was too thin and narrow and didn't do justice to the watch. Aside from that, it was chock full of arm gunk. Even after cleaning the arm gunk, I didn't like it, so it had to go. I grabbed a black silicone strap with white stitching from a local shop, and I think it's much nicer. Here is its new look.

Here's my modest collection.

Left to right Top Row:

Zenith Port Royale GMT dial (future 24 hour watch project,) Fortis Flieger 24 hour, Sheffield AM/PM, Raketa 24 hour (first 24 hour watch)

Left to right Bottom Row:

Fortis Flieger 12 hour, Camaro watch (gift about 15 years ago), Timex Expedition Turn n Pull alarm (This is actually my first "real" watch.)

Looks nice :) How's it running?

Also, love the Fortis 24 hour... saw one on eBay last week... 5 minutes after the auction closed. Been looking for one of the 40mm models for 2 years now.. oh well :)

It's really fast. After keeping an eye on it yesterday, I'd estimate it's gaining 20 or so minutes a day.

The Fortis 24h was my first expensive watch, and I really love it. I picked it up about two years ago, again on eBay, and I can't get enough of it. I also saw the one that was on eBay last week. It sold for a bit less than I paid for mine, but it was on leather, so I still feel I got a good deal since mine's on the bracelet. I think it looks a lot better that way. I still thought about picking it up just the same. ;)
Knowing as little as I do.. I would guess being fast is probably better in general than being slow. More likely to be a less serious problem with the movement? :)

Anyone know what the G1 means after the "T SWISS MADE" at the bottom of the dial? Google only came up with Afka's review when I searched "T SWISS MADE G1"

I'm afraid that trimming this movement to be exact enough for a everyday wearing is not possible. I have too this nice vintage American Sheffield. Mine is about 5 minutes fast. When you look inside there is a one jewel pin-lever Baumgartner 866 movement. Very cheap and simplest solution for 60s.

But the watch looks absolutely great!

Afka, your thread is one of the ones I looked to when deciding whether or not to buy this watch. I've come to like it more and more since buying it. It and my Fortis 24 hour get pretty frequent wrist action.
Well, damn. After about a year of off-and-on rotation, it has stopped running. It'll go for a few seconds and then stop. I can give it a tap and it gets going again, but only to stop a few seconds later. Looks like this one's got an appointment with the shop in its future.
