I finally stepped into the world of Panerai after years of looking and years of collecting other brands.

I'm still getting used to the size (44mm) compared to my other watches* but love the boldness of the Panerai.

This is what I like about it, so far:

  • Green dial is lovely and the dial color changes like a chamaeleon, depending on the type of light source
  • 300m water resistance (with screw down casebook)
  • 8 day power reserve (I've been getting 9 days with an accuracy of +4sec/day)
  • Classic Luminor case
  • Simple clean dial without extra text
  • No date
  • Sandwich dial
  • Crazy bright lume
  • Limited to 500 pieces

I guess this is not bad for my first Panerai :)

* some of my other watches include: Rolex Daytona 116500LN, Rolex BLNR, Rolex SD4000, and Omega Speedmaster

Hoping the Panerai plays nice with its new family ;-)

The green dial is stunning! The dial emits so many shades or green depending on the light source. The dial even, in my opinion, changes shades depending on the strap you put on it!

Compared to something like the Rolex SubLV - Hulk green... I'd take the PAM 911 any day of the week, without question! That's saying a lot because i am a Rolex guy at heart.

Goodness that is beautiful. I've never seen one in person but that color is stunning. Side note: your collection is awesome. Not sure you could go wrong with such amazing pieces in rotation!
Thanks! I took a chance on the green dial and "hoped" that it would be a nice shade ;-)

Thanks again! Very privileged and lucky to have the watches that I have !!!

Really like that green dial, adds to the vintage look. Wear it in good health.
Thank you very much!

it is a lovely matte green dial for sure!
Thx!

I am generally pretty sceptical when it comes to the recent Panerai "creations" but this one is very much in true spirit of the brand - large but not stupid large case with proper water resistance, solid caseback, massive 8 day power reserve movement (i love NOT having the 8-day written all over the dial), gorgeous hands and of course very tastefully done "military" green dial. If I had no Panerai in my collection (and I only have two left anyways), I'd jump on this one without much hesitation, as long as you paying the right money for it, it will deliver. Congrats.
I agree it definitely seems to hit on all the key features that make a Panerai a Panerai. Nothing extraneous. The green is perfect color tone

I bought is at retail so i think over the long term it will hold some value. I haven't seen any FS in the forums or Chrono24, so i have no idea, but there were never plans to flip it anyways

Thanks!!

Awesome! What size is your wrist?
Thanks

my wrist size is 6.75inches

That is a beauty. I did admire the green dial from the time it first came out. Unfortunately, the sold out long before I even got to see one. Doubt if I will ever see one in real life, they are so rare.

Congratulations!

thanks....

i took a chance on the "green" color. however the green is stellar! The shade of green changes with the light.

i think prices are starting to come down. Although i didn't see any postings for a long time....the first one i saw for sale was $12k.... and now most recently for $10k ... not sure if it will go back down to MSRP but i think it will come down a bit from $10k
