It’s $400. Were you seriously servicing your watches that cost $400 or less? Has that been a big part of your hobby? I have literally never serviced a watch of $400 or less in 20 years. Even if one did require it, I wouldn’t, but it’s never happened either because I don’t keep affordable watches that long or because they run just fine.

Also, this colorway to me signals a problem. It’s not fun, which was the central conceit of the swatch collabs. I’m reading this to mean they’re not getting the interest they were hoping so they’re starting to move to watches that are dangerously close to actual colorways in an attempt to get the watch to sell to more average consumers who aren’t into the novelty of wild looking collabs at $400.

I could of course be wrong, but the random timing of it, and the look, feels more like a Hail Mary move than a planned play.

I would buy a more fun color personally. If I’d be in the market for a serious black watch there are plenty of serious watches already out there.

This feels like a conceptual misfire.

If I see it for sale - Ill buy it. This is the one I like most and I want that form factor on my wrist for travel. I will make sure to take it to our recyling facility with other plastic bits if it croaks.

Guess this is the epitome of the definition of ‘homage’ in contrast to the much-disputed definition? Or is this also considered a money-grabbing exercise in poor taste though it is legitimate since it is sanctioned by the same company that produces the original expensive BP?

I like it but I don’t think I will be buying or wearing one. Intriguingly, this is precisely the homage that will lead to the confusion that the anti-San-Martin-homage persons often imagine owners of San Martin and similar ilk of watches of trying to achieve with their cheap watches, ie. trying to ’trick‘ others into thinking their cheap watches are the expensive original watches.

Better than the real FF because they didn't screw up the case size.

One my favorite watches is BP Leman Ultra Slim but the Blancpain brand is such crap. They never come out with something interesting...unless it is a collab with Swatch I guess.

.....what's 😞 disappointing to me is that this to is about 50% more than I'm willing to spend 😕 😢 😔 😞 😅 😪 😕 as with about every Watch I really / remotely like......
Lucky for me I love what I have and really shouldn't buy anymore Watches....

Gotta admit, quite sharp.

Couple questions:

1) Is that a nudibranch on the sapphire back?

2) How are they doing the clear coating on the bezel? Just some type of clear resin?

3) Did the Moonswatch also come with a Nivachron hairspring?

I think this was introduced in 1974. It was called a cheap , disposable, plastic watch. If you didn't get it 1974, you won't get it 2024. Apparently cheap , plastic, disposables sell in the millions. I think Swatch is looking for it's G-Shock.
