For quite some time I've wanted one of the Citizen Blue Angels watches, and particularly the AT8020-03L. For some reason, I always found a reason not to pick one up. But, as chance would have it, Amazon was having a 10% off promotion, and as Father's Day is here I decided to get one. I like the Skyhawk versions, but I think the dial on this version much more pleasing (IMO). Basic chronograph, which is essentially all I use anyway. Plus, it has a sapphire AR crystal, and has radio-controlled time sync. All in all, a very nice watch. I've read some negative comments about the band, but I find it fairly comfortable. It's still breaking in, but it fits the character of the watch. I really love the case back as well. And that yellow bezel accent? Very eye catching.
There is a slide rule bezel on the inside. I'm the first to admit...I have no idea how to use it. But, I have lots of time to learn.
It's a great size for me. 43mm I believe, and a little more than 12mm thick. It takes up a nice slice of real estate on my wrist, but not too much to be overpowering. Some say the dial is busy, but shoudn't it be for a technical aviation watch? The sunray blue really pops.
I have no idea why I waited so long. Check the box...in the collection and it's a keeper.
Thought I'd share a few pics.
Happy Father's Day to all!
