I have ordered a new square. 5600 / 5610 is by far my favorite model G-Shocks and G-Lides are my favorite of these! I love the crisp clear displays for one. Anyway I will be immediately changing the strap on this one to a GW-5000 strap. I have never been a fan of NATO style straps. So I will most likely be selling the Casio G-lide NATO style strap and adapters. Pics borrowed from Google images. Pics of actual watch to come! (I should have it Wednesday). Also I think this watch would look awesome on a V2 bracelet.....

I had mine on the wider DW5600SN resin strap. To me it makes the watch look better than the standard narrow resin strap. Yes, the GW-5000 is a tad softer but the DW5600SN strap keeps the watch in place.

The colored reflections are from Christmas lights I had just put up in the house.

I like my GLS-5600CL-1, but didn't like the fit of the OEM adapters and strap, so I changed to JaysAndKays 16/20mm metal adapters. Originally I put it on a Crown & Buckle Perlon strap (shown), but currently I have it on a Barton Canvas strap.

Definitely looks good! I haven't seen that type of crown and buckle strap....does it dry quicker than other NATO's?

I like! I was thinking I like the GLS strap on my VH (the gray one) for the same reason. It looks like this SN strap is very close to the same. Glad I didn't order the 5000 strap yet!

I prefer the SN strap on 5600 series to the standard or GW-5000 strap any day with the exception of the standard DW5600E strap which is a bit stiffer than than say the 5610 or 5000 strap.

There are Casio original DW5600SN straps out there. There is also a knockoff Perfit (I think that's the name) for less. I don't see them on eBay at the moment. For the nominal cost I stick with the real deal.

I've bought from these two Sellers in the past.

I actually very well may get this SN strap. Question.... is the DW5600E strap actually wider than the 5000 strap? Also I notice that there are two version of the DW5600E (different modules) with different straps....

Wow! I like it. Display looks more high quality compared to the dw5600e. Does anyone have a picture next to a 5600e? Is the actual display smaller than the regular squares? Might look good with a 5600e bezel. Black bezel with white text.

The DW-5600E bezel won't fit, but I put a GW-M5610-1B bezel on mine, as shown in the picture above. It has gray text rather than the black (unpainted) text of the stock GLS-5600CL-1 bezel.

So it uses the gwm5610 case not the dw5600e case? That's a shame. The gwm shorter lug to lug cases don't fit my wrist. Too tight or too loose. The dw cases fit me perfectly. I never understood why they made a whole new case size for the solar atomic squares rather than just make it the same size as all the 5000 / 5200 / 5600 models???

Three of my four squares have the smaller case (GLX-5600-1 x 2 and GLS-5600CL-1). My other square has the larger case (GWX-5600WB-5).

One GLX-5600-1 is on a GW-5000 strap. The other is on a G-5600NV-2 strap. These two fit differently, the former fitting slightly tighter and the latter fitting slightly looser. The point is that it's not just the case lug-to-lug distance that determines the fit of squares. It also depends on the particular strap being used.
