Hello all,

I just got around to registering at this forum after lurking for a while and I wanted to say a cheery Hello!

I live in the North of England, work as a consultant and have some brain malfunction for watches.

Just started to get a feel for what I really like and don't like after making quite a few dodgy buying & selling decisions already.

Current state of play is:
Navitimer A23322
Speedmaster 3570.50.00
Tudor Black Bay Bronze
Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT (although thinking of selling)
Oris Big Crown ProPilot Date (although thinking of selling)
Hamilton Khaki King
Hamilton Khaki Pilot GMT
Bulova Lunar Pilot 2017
Laco Ausburg Auto
Luminox Chronograph
Seiko 5 cream on green

Bought the two Oris's last week because I couldn't decide between them! Then decided I actually want the ProPilot Chronograph (I think this is how I know I have issues)
Have my name down on a list for a BBGMT but I expect that will be a looonnnnggggg wait

Anyway, looking forward to getting into the forums and learning the do's & don't over the coming months!

Hit me up if you want to know anything about the North East of England :)

Cheers
Vincent

Welcome Vincent. Sounds like you'll fit right in here! Seriously though you sound like you are in the midst of a collecting spree and my advice is to try and reign yourself in as much as possible. I did precisely the same a few years back and ended up making a lot of purchases that I regretted once I'd had a chance to sit back and really consider where I wanted to go. This forum has a lot of great knowledge, but it can also be a terrible vehicle for enabling financially unsound behavior to put it mildly!

As for info on the North East, is it true that people push dogs around in prams, butter their weetabix and drink a high proportion of blue coloured liquids? ;-)

Hi

I think that is good advice and is a spot on analysis of where I have been. I have a bit of a completer/finisher problem when it comes to collecting, umm, anything. I frequently stray off topic though.

My dichotomy has been to collect a few nice watches that fit contexts (work/home/beater/travel etc) or to go into a theme (I seem to be developing an aviation bias in watches of late)

As for the northern traits...all seems perfectly reasonable to me!

Cheers

Welcome to the forums! What strap do you have your Speedy on? I’ve been thinking of switching my bracelet out for a brown leather strap.
