I just registered today, but I've been lurking for a while.
I got interested because the Movado watch I got for college graduation just stopped working. I wanted to get a dive watch, but I wanted bang for buck, and I didn't want to go big on my first one in case I don't like the thicker, automatic divers (the Movado was very slim). So, after a lot of reading, I decided on the Orient Blue Mako.
I received it from Amazon.com yesterday, and I immediately adjusted the links (I have a very small wrist - took out four links). After adjusting the links, I "wound" the watch according to a search I did here - I basically held it parallel to the ground and made circular motions for about 5 minutes.
I've noticed that the second hand pauses at 44 (just before the 9). It only pauses for a very quick time, almost like a hiccup. But, I also noticed that it lost ~5 minutes over the course of six hours yesterday.
Do you guys have any suggestions or diagnosis?
Thanks,
Will
