Hi,
Just last week, after about a month, I received this new 40mm Pagani Design "Explorer" with the rubber band delivered (US) from China and I must say I was surprisingly impressed by the watch quality: saphire glass, seiko movement, needles does not look flimsy like I saw on some other brands, watch weight feels solid, etc... all for about $110 delivered.
I got the watch just before spending a week at the beach in Delaware and I took it swimming with me daily without any problems.
Only thing I noticed that I had not seen in pictures before was that this specific watch came with a Bersigar labeled case. I know they are the same watch rebranded but I have never seen one with the 2 brands.
Could it be that the rubber band allows this branding to be seen where the steel bracelet would hide it?

I think we'd all be shocked if we saw what factories in China are responsible for supplying parts to what brands.
I'm fairly sure Tevise and Steinhart use the same bezels.
Also, there's this thing where factories in China are contracted to make watches and/or parts for a western microbrand and then they make the same watch with a different branding and undercut the original customer.

Example being the Boldr Odyssey for $650. Steeldive comes along with essentially the same watch for $380.
Who wants to bet the Steeldive guys were contracted to manufacture the Odyssey for Boldr?

I am sure you are right, if you look over the vast range of Chinese watches then you the same cases appearing many times over many brands. By this I mean the actual stainless steel cases, or bronze, as distant from “alloy” cases. Often Chinese list a case as stainless steel when it is only the case back, but once you climb out the sub 100 bucks hole you start to see watch cases listed as what they actually are. What we think of as brands is something else entirely in China.

As Western Society/Residents 90% or more of our goods are now manufactured in the Far East, China being probably the biggest country where things are made. My real commercial experience is with computers and telecomms, where it is mostly made in China and other places in the Far East, like Malaysia and the Philippines, but some of the chips and software operating systems are added on delivery! Which is of no relevance to watches, but a lot of so called Swiss watches will be "Made" in China but assembled in Switzerland. About 20 years ago, High End Computers were made in the Far East, but assembled and checked in Switzerland!

Best regards,
Jim

Bersigar is what Pagini design have changed their name to. They could well be getting g rid of the PD dials left in stock.

Check this product description from a recent advert...

"We have changed our brand name from "Pagani Design Watches to BERSIGAR. We strive to provide you with the best watches as ever before. Please note that all the sales’ claims are applicable if you buy the products from our newly named brand Bersigar."

My pagani design explorer arrived after 100 days of waiting like a fool... Ordered from ali - waitforever.
Upon the first couple of hours of wearing it, the rotating bezel fell off the case. Win!
I got a refund but this is not enough. The absurd waiting time and the faulty product was like a personal insult. I need something like a revenge.

About the same here. I ordered 2 PD's from Ali. One arrived DOA. Vendor tried to claim I "overwound it". I tried to make a claim and Ali denied it. So not ordering from Ali again either. Luckily, I went through Paypal and paypal refunded my money and I kept the watch. So I'll one day get a new NH35 movement and just replace it proper.
Stay away from PD(or whatever they call themselves now) and Ali Express!
