Well that's definitely a different take on their "classic" designs for sure. I'll have to wait and see some online reviews to decide if I like it or not.

Well, the Muddies have those, and they look the part.
My point is that this watch doesn't look purpose-built for anything besides urban roaming.
one time i was in a new town and i got lost...good thing I had a map and my protrek compass 😈

but ya there have also been a few protreks with titanium bracelets...u know for those urban dressy moments...and once in awhile i still reminisce about my old prw-6000...

but anyway, i think with gshocks nowadays ppl take the triple sensor they have for granted... but it was barely 10yrs ago that the first gshock got a triple...ie. gw9400.

but still the main differentiating factor is still that protreks all have individual buttons for each ABC...

Getting some Octo Finissimo vibes from the case. I can kind of get my head around the black/silver model. The gold crown, gold-ish/copper-ish(?) markers and the red/brown leather strap on the other two are pretty distracting for me. It's a curious design evolution for sure. My first impression is: "I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish with these designs?" They definitely don't have me thinking about trading in my PRW-50FC-1ER. :)

my view is that protreks have gotten boring over the years...
the game changer models were the prw-3000, prw-6000 and prx-8000... but those were a lifetime ago in watch years.
since then casio has just basically been rehashing the same couple of cases with a different dial design, and calling it a new model.
i too have lost track of what each protrek model looks like without google...eg 50, 60, 51, 61, 600, 650...and on and on and on...heaven and hell...

then again there is the 2021 release prw-6800 which was a nice refreshing piece... just never made it out of jdm status...
this 6900 hopefully gets an international release...and i think the "less is more" approach of it could win back protrek fans who are bored of seeing bulky models with compass or distracting city bezels...
