That's a great looking watch. San Martin's value for the money can't be beat.

Yeah, the finishing seems on par with watches twice the price. I got out the timegrapher and did some regulation to the NH35. It was running about +12 spd on wrist out of the box. Now it’s running about +2 spd on wrist. Can’t really complain about that. So far, I’m liking it.

Yes of course it looks good, it's a direct copy of a good looking watch.

It takes way more than just a good looking design to build a quality watch. San Martin is really good at making quality watches.

Don't think they're making anything. They're copying! Only things changed are to make it cheaper.

The real Tudor looks better in every way, proportion, finishing, materials, etc.
My original comment was referring to the build quality and finishing for the price. This definitely seems to be a step above Pagani in fit and finish, and can serve as a stand-in for the Tudor, when I want to wear a classic vintage style watch of reasonable quality, without risking losing or damaging an expensive watch. It's not quite a 1:1 copy either. The size, dial proportions, and bezel material and details are quite different, but the overall look and style are close.

It's an illusion to think that making good, solid, well finished watches is easy. And the post above makes it very clear that they're not 1:1 the same watch.

Yeah there are some differences. All of them to make the watch much cheaper too. San Martin is all about copying the flavour of the day and convincing people to hand over money. Every new release they have is based on flavour of the day IP from another watch maker. It doesn't matter how hard or easy it is to copy. It's still a very low grade copy. Clones and fakes are at the top when it comes to deception, this type of copying is only marginally behind.

Valid point. Do yo feel the same about generic drugs? You know, when the pharmacist is asking you if you're okay paying 8% for a no name medicine instead of 100% for big brand. Have ever said yes to the pharmacist?

There are many other examples as well. If that's the strength of your argument though, it's a very weak recommendation. Someone else is doing something similar doesn't make it right.

Have you ever said yes to that pharmacist question? I bet you did ;)

Doesn't make it wrong either…
What makes you feel the need to stick up for multibillion dollar companies that in reality aren’t impacted in any way? What is this little crusade you’re on giving you?
These aren’t fakes and pretending they are and pretending buying one of these copies is an immoral sin says more about you than the people buying said copies.

There are many many other watch manufacturers in the San Martin price range that make watches that are true homages as well as original pieces to choose from that do not simply copy the flavour of the day. Dan Murphy, Baltic and Maen, just to name a few. You can bet your house over the past couple of years that every time Tudor release a watch, this company will copy it. If they spent some time making something themselves, I'd have perhaps something positive to say about them. All you and others are doing is rewarding quick profit hunters. Tell me they have any love or passion in what they do other than making a buck.

On the medical front, I have a blood disease that has me spending more than a San Martin on medications. I give them the script and they give me the medication. This has been over twelve years now and there are no conversations of generic options.

So what?
Who are you to decide what constitutes a true homage and what is morally acceptable? Get off your high horse…

I'm just someone with an opinion just like you and others. Some will have the option that fakes, replicas and San Martin are fine valid products. Others will have the opinion that they are not. Having an opinion does not put me on a high horse.

+1.
If you don't like them so much then why not start a thread about it instead of spoiling threads for people that do like them. You're like a cloud of flies that just won't go away. You seem convinced that after reading your post everyone who likes them is suddenly going to change their minds. Why should they? Just because you don't like them? You're entitled to your opinion but no-one here cares.
