I just won an auction for a Stowa watch on a whim (my first real watch!
) and I don't know anything about it. Can anyone offer information? Is it hand-winding, automatic, quartz? Note that I'm very much a beginner and don't know what any of this means, so go easy on me!

Also, any idea if I got a good deal? I got it for $36 without shipping, and the watch was apparently recently serviced. Thanks.

Not a bad deal at all for a vintage Stowa :) I would post these pics in the stowa forum, and Jorge can probably restore this to like-new condition.

I wonder why does it says Swiss made on the dial, didn't Stowa made all their watches in Germany?
I suppose it should correspond that final assembly was performed in Switzerland at the time, as opposed to what they are doing currently (using Swiss movements but label them as made in germany, based on the fact, that they are assembled in germany)
