I was just searching for my next G and I came across these 2 models. They really look great and I think I would like there style but on the website I cant get a close look. I really like the DW-6900 models and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about this watch in comparison to the 6900 and also if anyone owns or has pics they can share so I could get a better look it would be great. Here are the watches in question. Thanks

Hello DougieFresh;
The only difference between the 9050 and 9052 is the module inside. The 9052 has the same functions as the 6900. All these models are good solid workhorse g-shocks. You can wear them, and wear them out as they are relatively cheap and easily found.

The 6900 has a band design which is best decreibed as pre-fitted. They do not pivot about the springs, rather relying on the watch to fit you well enough initially or bend through the bands. Some people have changed over the straps/bands.

The 9050/9052 bands are totally different in that they pivot through an angle greater than 90deg. The bands appeared very stiff when I saw them, but I've been told over time the band shapes to a better fit. I should mention too that 90XX twins have plastic buttons, whilst the 6900 metal. Both feature easy to read displays (from what my eyes could tell).

One thing I did notice about the 6900 and the 90xx is that the 6900's bezel seems to be of a rubber type polymer whilst the 90xx seems to be more of the plastic grade of polymer. I tend to think that will fair better with abrasion or impacts. I think it's fair to sy that the 6900/6600 was made to have it's bezels replaced as they wear/damage.

Other than that I couldn't tell much else. If you have a g-shock/watch already, perhaps someone might have it also and can give you a realative description of the the size? This might help you appreciate them in the flesh; something not easy when online shopping.;-) .

Hope this helped.

the DW6900 to me is always a tough love
