Under special permit, the Cambrian Foundation continues to do research in some normally closed caves in North Florida. These shots show a close of my T1000 as I prep gear, one of me standing in the water predive in sidemount, and one of me (left) and Terrence Tysall (right) after a dive. I'm kitted up for no mount diving in the shot; after Terrence re-rigged, we were sampling water and bacteria in a very tight cave. My DOXA took the abuse without incident, which I'm beginning to take for granted!:-!

Here's are some shots from the most recent sampling trip at the end of June. The shot of me climbing is in the Florida Museum of Natural History, which invited the Cambrian Foundation to present on how we explore underwater caves and sample water and bacteria. Yes, I'm wearing my DOXA. The other shot is the surface of Rose Sink, a protected site (you have to have a state permit) with a cave system loaded with bacteria.

We just got back from the October-November sampling runs. First shot is a predive image (hot in Florida in a full wet suit). The second is just after I surfaced from a two hour dive in Wekiva, which is a very small system that requires no-mount configuration (that's my cylinder in the foreground). It's only open to qualified scientific groups by permit. The final image is the "shark fin restriction" inside, which should explain why we have to use no-mount.

That last picture of someones fins slipping through the rocks is amazing. I can't imagine the feeling of being in such a tight spot like that.
