Hi all,

Ok, I'm at the airport leaving HK. I didnt get any Omega's but I did buy a nice set of Mont Blanc pens. Actually, they ended up being a gift from the new wife's family :-!

Best price in HK, FREE

Nice pens AM!

Glad you got what you wanted. I guess that google thing and Beamon
worked out after all. The new wife wouldn't be from HongKong by any
chance, would she?

Nice result - and good looking pens too. Does this mean you have some spare funds to buy yourself a watch?

In my excitement I broke one of my own personal rules and did not treat anonymousmoose as I would wish to be treated myself. I didn't intend to steal his thunder with my earlier post, but to avoid this interpretation I have edited it out.

Unfortunately not. I do agree with her, the primary focus will be to reduce our dreaded mortgage and get our 'business on the side' happening.

I'd love to have a nice pen. But, as I cannot even hold onto a Bic biro for no more than 4 days before its dropped (always nib down) or lost, I have no use for them.

Re: Tell me it ain't so

You didn't go visit the inlaws on your honeymoon did you?
Tell me it ain't so.............

Ok let me clarify. In HK we were by ourselves. I chose and paid for the pens but will get the money back. So no in-laws went shopping for pens with us. Her Mother & aunt was in HK at the time but we caught up for a meal, thats it. Damn straight.

Now we are in my womans home-town, Beijing, were we will be catching up with her family. Mainly because they were not able to make it to the wedding. We will have a sort of second wedding reception over here, traditional Chinese. Although I am not going through another ceremony:roll:

Don't get me wrong. I think its only just that we have a second reception for the in-laws. She has quite a large family and none of them could make it to the wedding in Australia. Plus if they could, they wouldn't be able to understand a word of it anyways.

I was not too impressed that mother in-law just happened to be in HK at the same time as us, but I cant be angry at her, we only saw her for a few hours before we headed off to do our own thing;-). After all, 'mother' did give us 30% of the cost of the house we bought. Chinese are very very family focused.

Wow AM, that's a hell of a gesture inviting your Maw in Law to come live with you. It's gonna be great, just like one big happy family ........ that doesn't understand a word of English. Actually, I believe I read somewhere that it's a Chinese custom to let someone who buys you a pen move in and take over every aspect of your life. So, cool .... you are off to a great start. :-! - David
