I'm putting together a small beater and wanted to use a rubber strap, an Uncle Seiko Tropic.

Haven't seen many examples of Tropics on non-dive watches.

Here's what I'll have:

Seiko SNKL09 case (39mm with crown, 20mm lug)
SARB061 dial (sort of diver-looking)

anyone using a Tropic on a non-dive watch?

Thanks!

* not my watch, but that's the case.

Yep, most sports/sport-casual, particularly with reasonable WR as those both possess.

Usually a Perlon fan, but I'll wear a tropic on my Kinetic in the summer when I'm in and out of the kiddie pool with the little ones. The tropic is also nicer when it's crazy hot and I'd sweat through a Perlon strap.

No pics of the combo, but here's the watch:

Not really sure what you are asking.. like are you worried the fashion police are going to come and get you?

for a moment I was confused by your reply.. then realized lazy one-word responses are pretty standard for you.

I think they should look good.

Also on rubber tropic straps, does anyone know if it's possible to squeeze them a bit? I bought a watch with 21mm lug width but I can't find a tropic strap that size. Should I go for 20, 22 or just forget about it?
