Hi guys, I recently purchased a 1958 Seamaster 2846. I has a cal.501 movement and runs great. The only set back is that the crown isn't original. I have found this NOS part on eBay

And would appreciate your opinions as to whether or not it will fit. I will upload a picture of the watch for reference.

Many thanks, Matthew

Real question is.

Is this NOS from 10-20 years ago or NOS from 60 years ago?

Over the years when I restored vintage Omegas. I amassed about 400 vintage crowns including gold cap/filled and steel.

In all those crowns. I only found 2 gold filled 4 notched models. One in yellow and one pink.

I sold them for $50 and $75 in 2009

This seller is asking $25.00. Today I would be selling those crowns for easily $100/$125

You can take a chance, but I'm thinking it's going to be a plated crown and not gold filled. Hard to tell when you have nothing beside to compare it to and no returns accepted

Fact is. Something is better than nothing and going to be very hard finding an original crown to match
