I have a Mako, and can only speak about this one in particular. Once the watch is primed with light it glows in a nice strong green shade. After about 20 minutes it will dim and stay steady for about 7-8 hours (I stopped checking after that). The lume is very visible and easy to read. I hope this helps.
I have this watch and it has become the one I choose to wear every day. It does, however, have two shortcomings. One is the bracelet which is not quite up to the standard of the watch. The other is the lume which is very weak on the dial and even weaker on the hands. The rest of the watch is first rate and the accuracy is great. Overall, I'd say the virtues of this watch outweigh it's vices and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it
