Two Swiss vintage re-issues, with blocky lumed 12-3-6-9 indices, very similar sizes and (at least gray market) similar prices. Which do you go for and why?

This is the correct answer. On one wrist no less.

I will own both eventually too, each have a special charm. Zodiac is priced at half the Oris though and I dont see enough delta to warrant the price now.

Awesome pics! For some reason the Oris looks a bit more premium but love both. I actually have a Sea Wolf en route and am super excited :).

How's the comfort on the Sea Wolf? It seems half of the reviews love the bracelet and the other half hates it, not much in between. I like the fact that there is no folding clasp that adds bulk to the inside of the bracelet. I rarely find them super comfortable on my wrist.
The Zodiac bracelet is extremely comfy! The jubilee molds to your wrist like no ones business. The clasp has some stretch to it, so as your wrist swells, the clasp will adjust.

Just a question related to the dial: Is it silver or white ?
Kind regards.

I believe dial is silver sunburst and the triangle indices are cream/white.

I've read article's referring to it as artic white or sunburst white..but to my
Eye's... its silver.
I second that
super comfortable bracelet

Thank you for the pics. Do you have any other pics you can share of this on a leather strap? Not NATO? I want to pick this up but have some reservations about it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Oris for me... not that I have it.

The dial is more symmetrical as I think Zodiac's choice to do a 3 o'clock date window really misses the mark here. The Oris has the super cool vintage tone to the markers and I am always impressed by Oris' ability to provide watches that rival the quality of much higher priced pieces. Also the clasp on the Zodiac reminds me of clasps on cheap ladies pieces.

the only caveat is the Zodiac is much cheaper so you can't help but take that into account. All things equal, the Oris but I couldn't blame anyone for wanting to spend under $500 on a piece they like a lot.
Partial to the Seawolf since I have an original on the Expandable Oyster
Now that's a great oldie! That bracelet is such a killer innovation too.

Yep, very special to me.

I much prefer the look of the Oris however I do like the Zodiac as well. As others have said they did unfortunately drop the ball on date placement.
