It was a surprise for me to read that Oris releases / released number of signature watches honoring some great musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Miles Davies, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker... but does that mean that these people actually had Oris on their wrist, or it is just a tribute?

More than likely they ( or their estate ) just agreed to accept bunch of money from Oris to use their name. But in instances where the celebrity is alive, they likely got to look at and approve the design before it made it to the shelf.

As far as I know they are just tributes to the musician. I believe that either the person or their estate got to approve the watch design before it went on sale.

Yeah, just tributes unfortunately. Still very nice watches though.
