THE SELLER
If you are here reading this, then you’re probably active enough in the watch community to have heard the phrase, “buy the seller”. Thus, it seems fitting to start here with a small introduction.
I guess I would refer to myself as a collector and enthusiast. I got into watches, in a big way, 6 years ago. Since then I’ve learned a great deal. I’ve watched countless YouTube videos, spent hours on forums, and visited untold number of AD’s and boutiques around the world. I’ve been to live watch events and talked at length with other fellow community members. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing hundreds of watches first-hand, across many types, brands, and price points.
Throughout this journey, I have purchased nearly 120 watches for my collection, selling more than 80 of these watches on to new homes. Being party to over 200 watch transactions, I think it is fair to say I’ve got some experience. I try to sell watches the way I would like other sellers to do when I am the buyer. I try to make sure that the pictures I provide are above-average, thereby allowing one to get a good look at the cosmetic condition. If I know there are flaws beyond very light normal wear, I will disclose it. If I know of mechanical issues, I will disclose it. Nearing 100 sales, I have yet to hear from anyone who was disappointed with the watch they received.
As a result of this selling approach, I have earned perfect feedback on eBay, as well as here on Watchuseek, now starting to sell on CanWatchCo as well. Until Chrono24 implements feedback for private sellers, you will have to take my word for it, but there are dozens of happy buyers there too.
THE WATCH
Panerai Luminor 1950 PAM 312
I purchased this watch in June of 2022 from a reputable dealer. It is an R-series, so made in 2015. Given that this watch debuted in 2009, this is a much newer example than many of the comparable watches currently for sale. I know the watch was inspected thoroughly by the dealer when I bought it last year, but I do not have a detailed service history.
I am selling this piece for the simple fact that I currently have 11 Panerai in the collection. I love the brand, but need to get the numbers down to single digits. I have a newer generation Luminor 1950, so it seems reasonable to move this one along. I have zero complaints with this watch, there are just some in the watch box that I like a tiny bit more.
Comes full set, box and papers as pictured.
There is no warranty left from Panerai.
Condition
The watch is in exceptional condition. On wrist, it could pass for brand new. There are no flaws visible to the naked eye.
Strap: Very good condition. Some minor wear and creasing around the strap holes, but still close to new.
Case: There is no nicks or scratches visible under loupe.
Bezel: The smallest of surface marking common to watches. Likely rubbing on clothing. Visible only under loupe and only very slight surface marking. No texture indicating deeper scratches.
Crystal: Appears as new.
My Impressions
A classic Panerai at a comparatively reasonable price. If you don’t have a 1950 case in your collection, this would be the one to add.
Measurements
Diameter: 44.0 mm
Thickness: 18.0 mm
Lug-to-Lug: 53.6 mm
Lug Width: 24.0 mm
Specifications
Automatic
Movement: p.9000
72 hour power reserve
Sapphire crystal
Water Resistance: 30 ATM (300 meters)
Since it seems to come up a lot... NO TRADES.
The only exceptions to that would be a nearly new Panerai PAM 1314 or any nearly new Rolex steel sports model at RRP.
PRICE = $4,750 USD (plus shipping)
