Dear Members,

I'm new over here and I have a question. Somebody offered a me a vintage Patek Philippe for sale, All Stainless Steel, Water Resistant 3ATM. Because I have insufficient knowledge of this brand, I'm asking this forum to provide to me any information about this watch. Is it fake or real and would it be worth spending money on this watch?

Look forward to hearing from you, and many thanks for your help!

Per usual when an ‘is it real or fake’ thread like this shows up on here for a TOP vintage brand (VC, PP, AP) it’s 3 nano seconds to cringe-time ... I’m not sure if this or the recent VC produces the bigger ‘GAG response’ .... S

Complete fake! Among other things:

1. Patek Philippe, as a luxury watch maker, tend not to put watches into steel cases (except sports watches like the Nautilus). OK, this is not a complete exclusion criterion but one should immediately get a little more suspicious

2. The company logo is the Calatrava cross but Patek never put it on the dial (on movement, crown, etc. - but not the dial).

3. Patek Philippe would not only sack any worker who let a watch go from his workbench with that level of finissage on the movement - they would publically flay them alive!!!

Case closed, thread closed.

However, I am starting to have doubts over my Rolex, bought it in a garage sale for not much.
It has an excellent design and all the features that makes it weatherproof are clearly there - I do enjoy using it in a rainy day but... is it real?

Ahh a Rolex reference UMbr011a - Noted for making the wearer water resistant but the movement is known for poor timekeeping.
