Indeed, I have far more straps than watches, and is one of the reasons I am a fan of Panerai With screw bars, quick and easy strap changes for a different look.
I think you made the right choice. If my pocket would have allowed that one I would have gone that way . That’s a stunner. Have admired that dial often.
I don’t or rarely change straps but I’ve decided this year to do more of it. I just changed my Panerai strap to the rubber strap and am proud of myself! 😂
It can absolutely transform a watch. I love playing with different strap combinations. Even a simple color change can breathe an entirely new life into it.
I just put this cheap brown strap on my gold Seiko 5 automatic today. It had the original old gold bracelet on it. I think it looks and feels much better. I was not a fan of that bracelet.

I hated nato straps and never thought I’d rock anything other than a stock bracelet…
And now I have another box of Crown and Buckle nato straps heading my way because they are so much fun to change. Love how a simple strap can breathe new life into a piece.
Straps, what a rabbit hole. They are never enough. Even now that I have settled to 7 or 8 which I constantly swap between my watches, I am still looking for the next candidate. The good thing is that I have a base of three straps which tick all my boxes, so I could stop looking, but I can't. And don't get me started with clasps...
