Well I love watches & i'm thinking about starting a collection, but I'm a complete noob. I purchased a Seiko watch with the description Seiko Sports 100, 7N42-7129. I only bought this because the watch I really wanted was no longer available & it was very cheap. I figured I'd take a little risk, knowing the amout I paid for it, even the cheapest Seiko watch cost more. I have searched endlessly on the internetz for any info but haven't had any luck. So I really don't know much about it, can someone fill me in? Thanks!

I just found the same watch with a white dial on ebay, seller says it's a kinetic model that retails for 495.00, but he's selling it for 75.00...didn't give a specific date, just said from 99-up. All I could really find, sorry not more helpful....

From the bracelet design it looks to be 1990s model with that common quartz caliber 7Nxx, which is very good one/s. Many Tags of the 90s also had this bracelet styling, though nowadays it seems blingy haha! I have a Seiko diver ti from 1997 with similar style bracelet. The watch will last you a long time and is a reliable timekeeper!

Wrong....not kinetic....the kinetics used caliber 5M42, 5m43 etc.....I had them....all the 7Nxxx were quartz battery models....
so ...beware of such misinformation!

Thanks for the reply. It makes sense if from that time period, I bought a 7N32 new back around that time.

well, I just checked that ebay auction, and the seller never listed the movement number, so I just assumed since it looked exactly the same, it was the same. Perhaps the model the ebay seller was listing was indeed the kinetic version. Sorry for the misinfo, wasn't aware the same watchcase/bracelet came with two different movements:-d
