I'll be in NYC in a couple of weeks. I don't know anything about Manhattan other than the Empire State Bldg., Statue of Liberty, World Trade Centers, Rockefeller Center and a bunch of bridges :)

It's a business trip so we won't have but maybe a full day to spend sightseeing. We're focusing on sightseeing around the areas listed above.

Are there any cool watch store or stores in that area within walking distance?

Thanks.

I agree with @Actium that Wempe on 5th is an easy one. They have lots of brands and the location is surrounded by lots of mono brand boutiques such as Breguet and Tag. However, I was just there 10 days ago and the store was looking a little tired.

we’ve had very good experiences at Watches of Switzerland at Hudson Yards. Excellent setting, lots of brands and good service. Another advantage of Hudson Yards is that there are also several other mono brand boutiques located in that mall - Panerai and Cartier to name 2 - that you can easily spend a few hours watching shopping.

Depends on what you're looking for.

Boutiques on 5th Ave. Grey dealers on 47th St.

On Madison Ave and Fifth Ave, between 54th and 59th Street, you'll find practically any watch brand that isnt a micro.

Stores with a variety:
Tourneau/Bucherer Time Machine
Wempe

Brand boutiques:
Omega (with Swatch next door)
Breitling
IWC
Grand Seiko
Hublot
Tag
AP
Vacheron
Blancpain

I probably missed a few too.

Sorry for the late follow up. We did go to NYC and focused our time between the World Trade Tower area and the Rockefeller Center area. Didn't come across any of the boutiques but there were plenty of watches around. They even sell used luxury watches at the huge iconic Macy's. Macy's had the biggest display of Seiko I've ever seen. Rolex and Omega were spotted at a store at Rockefeller, near the Empire State Building and a few other places I can't remember.

I wore my 38mm Murph which was the perfect wrist companion for the short trip.

I passed a Swatch store in the Grand Central station and couldn't come home without the Moonswatch.
