...I read "somewhere" that there were other companies, besides Rolex, that gave watches to allied prisoners during WWII.

Does anybody know which ones? (also any other related info - eg about other wars - would be welcome).

A number of watch makers did the same. But it seems Rolex really believed in the Allies cause. As oppose to most Swiss watch makers who tried to hedge their bets.
Had seen the article (+ many similar ones).

It mentions Patek - again this is "sort of" what I was looking for; it looks like a one-time thing by Patek (I had a large-scale undertaking in mind - a la Rolex - when I asked above. Still, kudos to Patek, of course). Again, any info would be welcome...
