Sinn's price increase is up on their site. I only checked the 103st and U50 SDR-T as I'm familiar with their old prices. The increases were very minor.

2.44% for the 103
3.45% for the u50

That's great! Looks like the guess about the exchange rate working in US customers' favor was correct after all.

It's interesting that the price increase is not uniform. The Arktis II went up by 5% for instance.

Edit: Some other increases taken from the Sinn forum.

EZM 13.1 +0.3%
EZM12 +1.7%
104 St Sa +3.1%
U1 +3.1%
U1 SE +3.6%
EZM3 +3.9%
U2 +4.4%
UX +5%
6099 +7.5%

These seem like pretty reasonable increases, tbh

I'm about to get a 104, so I immediately went to Watchbuys and noticed their statement of not increasing prices...yet.
seeing as most of the their models have a 32 week waiting time, there will probably be a few more price hikes in the time it takes to receive an order
Noticed this too… 556 has gone up about 5% in Europe. In the uk certain retailers have also put the price up.
I have a Sinn 3006 order locked in at the old price, I hope!
Reviving this thread...might be old news to some, but I just discovered Sinn prices on Watchbuys up on the models I was familiar with. 104 up about 6% and the U50 up a bit over 7%. Others are likely higher as well...
I wonder how Sinn's sales are generally and if they've dropped off over the past few years due to price increases.

I recently messaged a well known YT watch channel about why they hardly ever mention Sinn watches. To my surprise they replied and said they actually owned a 556 but that they didn't feel they were good value for money any more.

But what’s considered good value when brands are concerned? Relatively speaking the 556 you mention is to me infinitely better value (cost versus design, materials and brand cache) to the likes of the new Tudor Ranger (which seems to me very similar in design to that particular Sinn) but both could be considered to offer less value when compared with a three hand Seiko of similar design and construction etc.

It’s all very subjective but ultimately it’s the buyer who decides what’s good value and the market confirms whether those buyer decisions are accurate by supporting the manufacturer’s chosen pricing…and judging by Sinn’s deserved success (in my opinion) I suspect they’re pricing their watches accurately.
I had a Sinn U1 and when you consider that they're almost £3k for the fully tegimented version yet have a humble Sellita movement and a crap clasp....then that's massively overpriced in my book.

It's true that you can query the VFM of all the major brands these days but Sinn used to be at the top end of the 'affordable' brands and now they have most certainly moved out of that price bracket. I remember when the U1 was released and it cost around £700.

I guess you don't know how much the 556 was when it was launched.

I do actually but that was approximately 10-15 years ago and the company is in a very different space now…do I think it’s good value still, yes, yes I do but others may not and that’s cool (spend your money how you want).

I’ve always thought Sinn was aiming (and succeeding) to compete with the like of IWC for the professional market (simple well made watches) and judging by their recent price hikes IWC is a very different prospect these days also…but do they offer any more value to when you get pick up a Mark 12 for very small money in the early naughties (2nd hand admittedly)?

Exactly. The U1 has quadrupled in price since it was launched 18 years ago. How much have wages increased during that period? The average UK salary in 2005 was £23k. In 2022 it was £33k.

And how much did a m3 of natural gas cost in 2005?

I get the frustration but relatively stagnant wages don’t map onto the increased costs we’re now encountering for everything.

Again, value as a measurement is very subjective but if you don’t like the price of the journey, just don’t get on that train.

The cost to manufacture a Sinn watch hasn't quadrupled in price. They are increasing prices because they're greedy, as are a lot of manufacturers. Sadly Sinn won't be getting any more of my money because they just aren't worth it IMO.

That was back in 2008 and only because the pound was so strong ,as in Germany they were €1,135. In the same year a Sub was around 3k and a MM300 1K all are almost 3x the price now
