I received a used Protrek PRG-40 from e-Bay a few days ago which needed new batteries. So as it needed cleaning, i stripped it all down, removing the 4 batteries as i went.
Today, i checked in 5 local hardware shops for new batteries without any luck. I left a small jewellers till last as they prefer to fit the batteries themselves. I showed the assistant the battery and asked if them if they had any. She replied 'yes, they're £5' and they would fit it for an extra pound. I gasped and told her that the watch took 4 batteries. 'No problem' she said, 'that will be £24' :-!
So, as you might expect, i told her no thanks and left with a smile on her face.;-)

Upon returning home, i hit e-Bay again and purchased 10 batteries for less than the price of 1 from the jewellers.
