Hi all,

I'm a new member of this forum. I recently purchased my first Panerai - a base PAM 000H. I'm interested in adding DLC coating my watch, but before I do so I was hoping to gather some insight from other member's of this board who have previously been through the process of adding DLC via PVD to their watches...

I know through the bit of online research I've already done that Jack at IWW is known to be a very respected source for this type of service, but has anyone on this board worked with any other PVD vendors? I'm curious as to whether or not there might be any other sources out there that can provide a comparable level of quality that may not necessarily take as long to complete the project or be as expensive...

Thanks in advance for any advice, opinions, and/or suggestions!

I'm curios here too. I've exchanged emails with Jack, and he seems like an excellent choice but are there others out there? My watch was born in PVD dressing, but I've given up looking for an off the shelf PVD/DLC bracelet, and am going to resort to modifying/customizing another bracelet to work.

I haven't gotten much response yet to this thread, obviously, but through a search of old threads I found that apparently there was a member on this board whose handle is/was "Avitt" (think his real name is Tony) whom also provided DLC coating on high-end watches, but I have not been able to find good contact info for him. I tried sending an email to him three days ago through the email address listed under his member profile, but I haven't heard anything back from him as of yet so I'm thinking that the contact info I have is probably out-dated.

Anyway, if anyone has ANY other info that might be helpful to us looking for a quality, reliable source for DLC coating (other than Jack at IWW whom we all already know about), I think I speak for all of us when I say that we'd certainly appreciate it. I of course have absolutely NOTHING against working with Jack, and will probably end up simply sending my watch to him to perform the work anyway - I'm just curious to see if there are even any other options...

Thanks in advance!

--- Tomorrow I am heading to the post office to pick up a DLC-Seiko purchased from Yobokies. I'll let you know how it looks (from what I gather, Harold has access to somewhere that does DLC.. But it's in Hong Kong)..

The photo's I've seen Avitt's work look good - very very dark gray in color, which I prefer to black - similar to the "StealthMax" finish Jack used to offer. The only problem is that Tony (Avitt) just doesn't seem to check the only email address I have for him...either that or he is simply choosing not to respond. :(

I'd still love to hear from any board members who might know of other sources...
