Hi guys,

I really love the style of the dial on the piece in this eBay auction: OMEGA DE VILLE AUTOMATIC WATCH 1970'S HIGHWAY DIAL | eBay

I was wondering if the gurus on the forum could give me an official name for this dial, style of watch, or perhaps some movement calibers, or anything really that could help me positively ID the watch and maybe look out for such pieces for sale in the future.

Thanks very much!

It is not a railroad dial... railroad dials have several criteria this fails to meet.

Rather this is a Bauhaus or minimalist style dial. A number of vendors have made them over the years. Some German brands seem to specialize in them.

The seller identifies the calibre. It looks like a nice example though the steel gears of the winding mechanism show oxidation. This indicates water intrusion at some point in the watches life. But it still could be a good movement.

I hope that helps...
