Hello

My first Russian arrived today. It's Raketa Kopernic from late 80's. I don't know if I keep it or not. It's a nice, working watch but I'm not really a collector. Along with the watch came also a full RAketa catalog from year 1989. I tought that some of you might be interested in that so I scanned it and it can be found here:

Please copy it to youself if interested, because some day it might disappear.

Here is the watch itself

And her is some more pictures:

Still waiting second one (Komandirskie K-34) to arrive from Meranom...

ArcticMan - you are a hero!!!!! I can't tell you how glad I was to see the 1989 catalogue. I have a collection of about 900 Raketas, and catalogues are the only way to find model numbers and to tell what's authentic and what's not.

Thank you so much!!!

I see you fell for the same Raketa that I did.

That strap looks good on it. I went with a different look, but would certainly go with that strap had I seen it first.

I would be curious how your Raketa is running. Mine seems to stay spot on and with great ease. I can't tell you how many people have commented on the watch...they love it! Many thanks on scanning your catalogue. If you get a chance, show some wrist shots of it.

Chris and ArticMan,

The black strap with white stitching looks a lot like the sort of straps I use; is it slightly padded but thin and very flexible? The ones I get normally has black stitching and gold-finish buckles, a bit closer to rose gold colour, and I switch them out for silver buckles when I can get them. I routinely re-stitch them to give more security as the original stitching tends to be a little weak.

Thanks for super positive feedback for all. It's my pleasure.

I added few wrist shots to gallery as asked. I think watch is too small for my 7,5 inch wrist.

Accuracy has been good. I haven't monitored it properly but after three days it's bit less than minute fast. I have keep it crown up in a closet. It's quite noisy though, I can hear if it's ticking throuhg the closet door :)

Even if it's been 3 years from now, I wanted to drop a thank you for the 1989 catalog. It allowed me to check if my Raketa really existed and was not a proper Franken ;)
