I am pleased to introduce my latest arrival:

a 1981 ZiM dedicated to the XXVI Congress of the CPSU.

ЗиМ, XXVI Съезд КПСС, Механизм 2602, Завод имени Масленникова, Куйбышев

It has the same dial but a different case and hands than Ill-Phill's similar watch. I guess at least ill-phill's hands (H, M and s)might be a replacement, since they do not fit so well with the colour of the dial markers (possibly also the case?).

It is hu-u-u-ge for a Soviet watch: 45mm diameter!

Here a comparison side by side with a similarly cased not quite so large Raketa.

Both in the UFO style...

Nice watches, nice photo.
You must be kidding about the photos! Cheesy LG cell phone, forgot to reset the pic size on more than 320x 240... I am way lazy and absolutely not gifted for pics!

Just to give a few more examples of Raketa UFOs...

Paul
My first glance into Paul's famous drawing storage cabinet, full of magnificent watches. I can easily imagine that the drawer is several meters wide and that there are dozens of such drawers, in each one of the many cabinets of Dr. Raketa's mansion...

Sadly, not quite. Each drawer is actually about 80cm deep and about a metre wide, and there are six drawers in the cabinet, all full or overfull. It's an old architect's drawing cabinet. As for the mansion...;-)

You've been considering getting some more storage room in Fort Knox vault, haven't you?

Well, if prices on Raketas continue to rise, I may at least have to consider buying a second machine gun, or upgrading my laser system.
