Re: Rare Kongque pocket watch

This Liaoning made pocket watch houses that big 17 jewels Meihualu pocket watch movement made by Jilin Watch factory. The case is a little bit smaller. This is a much less common watch than the Meihualu pocket watch.:-!
Even the Meihualu is already an uncommon watch.

Re: Rare Shuangling 40 jewels automatic no date

Shuangling 40 jewels automatic watch is uncommon, and the no date version is rare. I found this watch long time ago, but did not realize it was a rare watch. Since then I have never seen another one even in worn condition.
This is the most jewelled movement of vintage Chinese watches.

Re: Vintage mechanical lady watches

These lady watches are not interesting to collectors, but they are dirt cheap and almost never seen for sale outside China.

Still these are evidence of China's watch industry's technological level in its early stages. There are many types of movements used in these watches. However, a group of such watches could still be fascinating to look at as they look more like jewels than vintage Chinese man's watches.

Rarity- rarely seen outside China, but very common on local markets.

The smallest Diamond watch(movement size:14X16mm) is a rare one. I have only seen one of these.
Here are some lady watches with unusual cases. These are much less often seen than those ones with strandard cases.|>

Re: 17 jewels Beijing BS-2 watches

Beijing BS-2 watches were built on imported Swiss Enicar production line and equipment according to Swiss technical and quality standards. Some 160,000 watches were made during 1961-1968, but many used watches were destroyed in late 1970's when the factory tried to promote their new watches. This makes BS-2 watches much less often seen on used markets than Shanghai A581.

Textured dial BS-2 watches are very rare. I have only seen two during last year. It also has a different caseback. The caseback with slots for opening is a 18 jewels version.

Early 17 jewels vesion with slim hands and engraved hour markers are also much less often seen than later 18 jewels BS-2s.

Here is another version of the 17 jewels Beijing BS-2 with a gold tone textural dial. Now I have seen 3 versions of the textural dials, silver, gold, and the purple colour dial.
