Okay so I am ready to buy either the old automatic seamaster or the manual speedmaster which I find just as beautiful but here's the thing - If I spend more than £1800 My girlfriend will kill me. Where do I get the best deal? I want it new of course and I want the warranty. I live in the UK. Thanks!

they dont make the old seamaster any more, so you will find this very very hard to find. if you check the net for websites just see if they by it from dealer and they say comes with omega warranty. you could always do what other blokes do and just lie to your girlfriend lol

Commit the following to memory:

[Girlfriend notices new watch on wrist]

Girlfriend: Is that a new watch? It looks expensive.

You: What, this old thing? I've had it for years...just hadn't been wearing it. I think I'll wear it more now, though, because I kind of forgot how much I like it.

What you could do is buy a used one and then immediately send it to Biel/Bienne for a complete overhaul. It comes back looking good as new and comes with a new two-year warranty from Omega. Between buying the piece and servicing it, you'd likely still pay less than the cost of a new one (and under your £1800.- limit.)

Girlfriend: Oh yes, now I remember, it was the same year I bought that Louis Vuiton bag and matching Prada shoes that I had completly forgotten about.

You: (gulp)o|

Commit that to memory!!

I'm also looking to buy a new Speedy pro in the next few weeks and also live in the UK. So what price do you guys think is realistically possible to get it for?

to buy new from omega AD its about £2360, you can buy off the net but this is called Grey market( not authorized dealer) some will come with their own warranty and some will come with omega warranty as they buy from a omega dealer.
example Omega Speedmaster Professional Mechanical Watch - 3570.50.00 this is with omega warranty.

or if you like to buy from omega AD most will do interest free credit. you could always pay as much as you want then pay rest in installments interest free. so to the O.P you could always pay £1800 then get the rest on interest free without telling girlfriend lol :)

hope this helps all good hunting and let us know how you all go. :-!

Dont rule out buying pre-owned. I bought a 5 year old Speedy with display caseback for £1,500 (easily 95%) from Parkers in Sheffield. Good web-site. There are a number of shops specialising in Pre-owned. If you want to buy new and have the cash negotiate hard You should be able to get 15-20% off. If you don't want to haggle use Quidco for say Goldsmiths ...14% cashback prior to VAT. I also think you can get interest free credit. However, make sure you goto a AD to try on.
