Hi all, I'm brand new to collecting and new to this forum. I'm trying to get my knowledge up and hopefully won't make too many costly mistakes. I have recently purchased a watch from ebay. Probably should have posted before I purchased :). Any thoughts on whether this vintage watch is real, fake or Franken? Cheers

Hi Demon,

You have a fake. Hopefully you purchased with Paypal and can send it back. Just for future reference any Oris watch with the movement pictured below is fake.

Also the dial colours are rather spectacular for a 50's watch. No doubt your seller is a middleman between you and a re - dialer in India.

Regards,

Thanks for the info James. I specifically asked him if the dial was touched. He said no. Lesson learnt I suppose. Do you know if that's a generic movement or from another watch brand?
