How's about a thread that combines some nice pics and some nods in the direction of some cracking aviation reads?
First up, a couple of books by Patrick Bishop about RAF pilots in WW2. I can't recommend these enough, and the second book, Bomber Boys, inspired me to research my Dad's cousin, leading to the results I've shared previously.
Patrick Bishop also wrote this account of 3 Para in Afghanistan. Heroism still exists.
And the story of the mighty Vulcan's only taste of combat - including the tale of a vital bit of refuelling kit found being used as an ashtray in the officer's mess!!
The line up . . .
And the boys would only pose with the books if I took a couple of portrait shots as well of course!
Anyone else read a good aviation book recently?
