Hi, recently went through boxes of junk that I had in the spare bedroom and came across this little beauty. It is by a company called Rensie.

It started up right away and is running nicely. It has really nice blued hour and minute hands and a red second hand.

Does anyone have any information regarding this watch i.e. year of manufacture etc.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Rensie was a German clock and watch company, based in Send or Sending. Lots of alarm clocks for sale on ebay! Rensie ad attached (taken from ebay listing).

The movement is an AS 1158 (or one of that series anyway). Under the balance, you should find an 1158 (or 1187 or 1190 or 1213) and maybe an "AS" stamp (unless that's covered by the balance cock, like in my AS 1700/01). Ranfft gives a date of about 1950 in his database (http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?00&ranfft&0&2uswk&AS_1158) and that would agree with the overall style.
