Pulled the trigger as soon as I saw this watch!

Im dissapointed in the guys that have had this for a week and haven't reviewed! So hopefully this helps other people decide in making the purchase since the orient site lacks more photos and there is no video.

If you're familiar with the mako, this new watch feels the same on the wrist but in my opinion wears and looks much better. The lume has improved and the bezel clicks are perfectly crisp and smooth. New bezel looks much better and the speedmaster style bracelet @ 22mm width is just awesome.

The bezel and the bracelet looks better than the old mako. Nice to see that the bezel clicks are smooth. I had to fight with the bezel on my old mako. Is the dial color same as the old black mako, or is it more glossy?

I was thinking of getting this but later decided to get the Seiko 007.

Very nice! I want one, I really want one (a blue one). But I've bought too many watches recently and will have to control myself for awhile

Can you confirm that the seconds hand is lumed? Appears to be, but I want to make sure. If so, this watch basically has everything I would want except (of course) for sapphire, and also a display caseback... which can potentially compromise water resistance, so I can do without.

Re: Lint in the first picture, I really wish Orient would change the little fuzzy white pillows they use. Don't like my new watches arriving covered with micro fibers. Always feel like I have to wash off the new watch before popping the crown open to set, and potentially letting that dust into the case.

I received the Ray on Tuesday. The Bezel seems a little tight, but not too tight to turn without fuss. The dial is pretty matte. Raised hour markers are well placed and very raised. The second hand is illuminated. I saw that last night in low light in a closet. The bracelet is outstanding. Very weighty and comfortable. The case is the same size as the Mako 1, and wears the same way. The brushed steel on the top of the case is the same as well. I love the look. I think I made a good choice between the two. All in all....better than my Ollech and Wajs M4.

I've had my blue Ray for a week now. This was my first Mako. Overall it's a very handsome watch, as expected. The dial is more of a greyish blue than the royal blue dial on the original Mako. I like the dark navy bezel color a lot. I also particularly like the red-tipped second hand and the chrome bordered raised markers. The bezel is a little hard to grip, but it turns just fine and hits the marks dead on, which is nice. Accuracy has been very good, which was to be expected I guess. The watch consistently gains 4 seconds a day on the wrist. It does speed up noticeably off the wrist, but I've been wearing it too much to tell exactly how much faster.

My only gripes concern the bracelet. I'll agree that it's a solid bracelet, and it looks great, but it's the hair-pullingest contraption I've ever worn. Fortunately, the watch looks really great on my olive green zulu strap, so I think that's where it's gonna stay for the time being.

The nice thing about the Mako line is that it's a great looking watch that stands well on it's own. No one from a few feet away will mistake it for a Rolex Submariner, or a Seiko 007 (unless they have horrendous eye-sight and left their coke-bottle glasses at home).

I have a black Mako, but I would buy a Ray immediately if it had the old hour hand. Also the Mako would be better with the second hand of the Ray. Might buy a Ray anyway...

Just ordered a black Ray. Should arrive sometime this week. Looking forward to it! This will be my 2nd Orient watch, and just the 4th watch in my collection.

I really like the look of this watch. The bezel and hands look good together. Lume seems improved. I've got a black Mako already, but I'd buy a Ray in white in a second though!
