I've had one of these with an incomplete movement for a few years - so this, as the only working watch in a batch of 6, had to be mine.:-d

The movement is a Baumgartner 866 1 jewel. Marked Hind Corp. on the movement and Swiss Ebauches on the dial. Almost certainly assembled in Hong Kong. The case is in excellent condition and its keeping time so far.

My other one patiently awaits a donor movement.

Ha! Just the name 'Ron La Tron De Luxe' in the thread title was enough to tell me what kind of a watch it would be. I love the shape of the case. Like an early Vostok dress Komandirskie.

I've got a 17 jewel BFG 866. I'll get show you the photos when I find the time. Cap jewels all over.

You do find some of the most interesting obscure brands... Chascomm is right, the name rolls out. You read it and you have to say it aloud. RO-LA TRON! :-d

That's Super De Luxe I'd like to remind you.;-)

I wore it last night and it keeps excellent time. But apart from being a bit of a novelty, I also really like the design. The case is really good quality and the dial has very little age. I put a new crystal on - but even that wasn't bad. I think its had a lot of drawer time.

Thanks Chascomm - I knew you'd appreciate the movement.

I do actually like obscure brands. They tend to be cheap for one thing. And I know that posting them in here means that someone else will likely find a snippet of information in years to come.

The batch of 6 this was in also had an Exacto - but that has got a broken stem and knackered mainspring. The others are poor quality and in poor condition. Better a nice working Ro La Tron than a crappy broken Longines eh? :-d

OK - I'm impressed. Shock protection by Novodiac?

And an Israel connection as well.b-)
Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool.

Unfortunately I've never been able to track down anything about "Rega, Israel".

Well spotted on the shock device. |> I'd never identified it.

But there are even cooler BFG 866 variants out there. My watchmaker has a balance-wheel for an 866 with Incaflex-style spiral arms! It blows my mind that somebody would bother to hot-rod a movement like this.

Very interesting looking watch. As Eeeb said, "You do find some of the most interesting obscure brands". I think you are one of my influences in always looking for less well known brands.

Well 'influence' sounds much nicer than 'blamed'. :-d

Thank you.:-!
