Hi,
I am looking for a particular watch for my boyfriend. I've attached an old advert. He is looking for the watch on the left with the Rodania on the strap. I can't read the model name in the picture so I have no idea which one it is. Are you familiar with this watch. Do you ever get them in? If so what sort of cost are they going for? I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone with any information or has one of these for sale. Thanks for any help you can provide in advance.

Hi -

Not an easy task! The Rodania is a fairly hard vintage watch to find. Your best bet is probably to use google to see if you can identify the actual model name of the watch in question (not easy at all unless you find a collector of these watches willing to help out) and to see what Rodania watches are out there being offered right now. I googled both "Rodania vintage" and "Rodania" and found a couple of sites which might help you along further:

This gives a brief history of the company:

This is the current web page of the company (they should be able to help you identify the exact model of the watch!):

Best of luck finding the exact model: not an easy task at all, but you never know what you can find!

For some strange reason Rodania set up a subsidiary company in Montreal so you do occasionally see Rodania watches in Canada. A lot of independent jewelry shops sold them in the 1970s and 1980s.
You might try an email at this website. He's actually IN Montreal.

Your watch of interest looks like it's from the 1970s. I had a similar one (Helicon) which I got in Halifax in 1976. It features a generic ETA type movement 25 jewels. I don't know if Rodania used these movements or finished their own back then.
