Both great watches, can depend on a lot of factors, like what is in your collection? They are both technically sport watches that can be dressed up. IMO the BLNR is much more sport, while the AP can be dresses up much better. The BLNR will be more rugged than the AP. However the AP is a Haute Horology while the BLNR is not, if that is even important to YOU? No wrong choice, consider what's important YOU. For me if I had a Rolex in the collection it is a no brainer, AP all the way.
Welcome to the forums! It depends on what you want the watch for. In a vacuum, on aesthetics alone, I would take the Royal Oak in a heart beat as it is a better finished, more beautiful piece. However, if you want the watch to wear hiking and to swim laps in the pool, the Rolex would be a better choice.
