Hi, can anyone post me a picture of what rust in/on a movement looks like? I am having trouble spotting a rusted movement and one that is ageing gracefully. :think:
In fact here I will go one better. Check out these pics I have stumbled across. This sort of thing is exactly what confuses me. Is this movement rusted? Or is it ageing like French wine?
Most Connies I see that are rusted are rusted around the swan neck, ratchet wheels and case screws. Sometimes one had to drill out the screws because theyre rusted in. Also you often see rust on the thread at the case back join.
