I collect mostly vintage Bulovas but I acquired this Elgin a couple of days ago. I thought I knew a little about Elgins but this one has thrown me for a loop. This is the first Elgin I've come across with a copper colored movement with no serial number on it. I'd like to know a generalized date period for it. I think it's newer than I originally thought. I thought it was from the 50's when I bought it.

Thanks!

This is from when the original Elgin went out of business and they started making Swiss ones. A immediate giveaway of a Swiss made one is the E underneath Elgin on the dial.

Nice watch merc, looks a little like the Orlando in this 1961 advert.
Hopefully Doug will come along and fill us in soon!

Thank you so much for that information Constellation90. I'm glad it's working and I don't need any parts for it.

Thank you also Bobbee. I tried to reply to your message but I keep getting an error saying my message is too short.
