Seiko 5 showing the wrong days?

Hi,

I recently purchased a Seiko 5 from the net for wearing when I work with my hands.
It is a SNX111K1 Auto. Now the watch works well however the days seem to go in this order:

mon lun tue mar wed mie thu jue fri vie sat sab sun

Now i'm guessing that these are Spanish abbreviations or something? Is there a way to change this setting or something? Surely this isn't realistic.

Thanks.

The day wheel is dual language. If you want English, set the day on the appropriate day, in English, and you're done. You'll only briefly see the second language day as the day wheel flips from one to the next.

Alright I'll try it again and see what happens when it flicks over tomorrow. It however ran out of mechanical energy at night sometime and it was stuck on the Spanish. Should that be happening? How long would it stay on the second language when switching over at night?

Just set the day to the one that you need. The Spanish day will show only during day change between midnight and 3 am. You will have English day for the rest of the time.

Don't change day/date between 9 pm and 4 am.

So would you recommend changing the time before changing the date between 9pm-4am.

Is that the order of the days when setting the day? Mine runs through the days in the different languages only when setting the date, but otherwise the days run in a single language as it should.
See my first reply. Thanks for your reply.

try to set the date when it's not around 9pm to 3am because thats the time when a mechanical watch change the day and date..say, around 6 o'clock..now turn the day wheel to the appropriate english day..and your watch will be set to english day all the time now..

Watches are made in local languages for different countries apart from English. I too pose similar problem with my Seiko 5 automatic which most of the time displays weeks in Arabic. None can help.

Isn’t it French? Pull crown out half way using quick adjustment feature and turn to the English day. Done. No waiting. Please follow the above advice (jonibang) as far as the danger zone.
