Just saw this getting posted about here and thought it may be worth getting it's own thread going.

https://www.seikowatches.com/us-en/products/prospex/special/55th-anniversary-limited/

It looks like an LE of 5,500 and a price of 140,000 yen.

Sapphire crystal

200m

Diashield

6R35

40.5mm diameter

47.6mm lug to lug

13.2mm thick

For my part I love the size and the dial, case and hands. No chapter ring.

I have been looking for awhile and I think It is almost my perfect seiko diver dare I say it.

There are also some non limited editions with grey and brown dials.

SB151 fits? pics?
EDIT: Sorry my bad. Clasp portion is the same but the bracelets are different.
I want to like these watches but it's like Seiko didn't even try with this lug design... it's on a lot of new Seikos and it ruins them all. They look terrible, totally out of proportion and clunkily integrated with the rest of the case. Such a shame.
I like the lug ends of the SKX range over these straight ends, but these do look better on a rubber or Zulu strap.
What band is that?
I’m looking for a rubber, nylon, or sailcloth bands. Any suggestions appreciates. I'm intrigued by delugs clasp CTS bands. Curious if anyone tried it. I'm waiting on my chevron crown and buckle one this week

Watch in a glass getting water poured on it? why?
Anyone bothered by the 3 o'clock lume pip and then sold their watch?

Lucky you who get to buy the original one without it. Now I have to reconsider buying this watch because the only available version is the one with 3 o'clock lume pip. It's a desk diver, Seiko, come on! No need to ISO-ed this that hard. sigh

I love pairing this watch with white straps but literally any color strap will work incredibly well. This one is a canvas strap from Hemsut via Amazon.

It is water but it's in a bottle of Bombay gin, just because.

It's the CTS from Delugs, I have small wrists so it's nice to have a strap that fits nicely without a tail.

Fantastic I was actually looking for those. Do you have more pics and angles of It?. I’m thinking of black or blue.

I think the taper from 20 to 16mm is perfect but I've seen some comments from people who would prefer a 20 to 18mm taper.

Have you considered buying preowned? I just saw 2 without it on watchrecon.

Nah, I want to keep it so I want it new.
Hi what are peoples opinions on this line, would you change the clasp and keep original braclet or change to uncle seiko braclet/long island watch braclet etc.
Some feedback seems to say original more balanced for weight of watch head.
Thanks in advance.
SPB151 and SPB143 series use the exact same bracelet (Seiko part M197213H0).
They aren't the same bracelet. Mid links are different sizes and the clasp is slightly different.

I'd consider buying a used bracelet but I would not pay for a new bracelet. IMO, even the aftermarket bracelets are so expensive (>CAD$100), I'd rather put it towards the next watch.

So I guess my answer is "good enough".

The pins and collars tho.. Man I hate that.

Sorry my mistake. Thanks for correcting me. I was thinking about the clasp portion being the same. I’ll edit my above post to avoid confusion.

Thanks I have the original unused bracelet that came with the watch but the clasp seems so huge so didn't know if to buy new clasp or get aftermarket.
Good point might as well put money to next watch if there is another .....

As said before, I'm perfectly happy with the original bracelet that came with my 143. The only thing I'd change is a clasp without the diver extension. This solution is a lot more economical than buying another aftermarket bracelet. Not to mention the colour of the aftermarket bracelet may not match the diashield coating of the watch head.
