Just saw this getting posted about here and thought it may be worth getting it's own thread going.

https://www.seikowatches.com/us-en/products/prospex/special/55th-anniversary-limited/

It looks like an LE of 5,500 and a price of 140,000 yen.

Sapphire crystal

200m

Diashield

6R35

40.5mm diameter

47.6mm lug to lug

13.2mm thick

For my part I love the size and the dial, case and hands. No chapter ring.

I have been looking for awhile and I think It is almost my perfect seiko diver dare I say it.

There are also some non limited editions with grey and brown dials.

A new crown
Two failed movements
A new click spring
New gasket
Two dial replacements
New handset

...and finally my SPB143 is usable again 😂. I must've had the worst luck with this watch and Seiko service centre. But I'm happy it's back on wrist and fully functioning (for now). I wore this watch the most in 2021 and the first half of last year before it broke. I have many more "better" watches in my collection, but there's just something special about this one that I won't give up on it, especially not now 😅.

Glad your all sorted with it 🙂looks fantastic in your picture. It really captures the watch at its best. Do you tend to wear it on the original bracelet? I keep thinking of letting mine go then pics like this make me change my mind 😌

I had movement failure as well and just got mine back from the service center. Running like it should now. I almost j got rid of it but just couldn’t.
Best photo of this watch catching the sundial grey color. After owning this watch I realized this sundial grey only pops up from time to time! But when it did was amazing

Do you no longer own it ?

Thanks man, I'm enjoying it again finally. I wear it on the original bracelet, the US oyster bracelet, and the seiko rubber strap evenly. Sometimes on nato straps but I like it on a bracelet more than anything else.

This photo I posted earlier this year is my favourite of the dial, the sunburst, the texture. it's a great dial!

Found this SBDC103 beauty during my visit in Japan at Seiko House Ginza. I had to grab it considering it was tax free. I’m in love with it, such an ever changing dial.

That picture really does capture that dial beautifully 👌 the problem is in real life it only looks like that around 20% of the time 🤣
Do you prefer the US oyster or original braclet ?

I prefer it because it's got a more exaggerated taper and it's a better fit, but I like both bracelets pretty equally. I like the heft of the OEM

Did they change the dial? Yours seems to have a lume pip at 3 and mine does not? Which one is more recent?
yours is older. the more recent added the pip at 3 for ISO diver standards

Ah, interesting. I just bought it a week ago in Japan, so that's strange that I got the older model.

A lot of folks prefer the older one without the 3 lume pip. Nice find.
Bought a SPB145 a few weeks ago in Japan during vacation (no lume pip!). Really like the watch, but still thinking about the best strap. Might be unpopular opinion, but I kind of like the classic look of a diver (especially this one) on leather. Anyone with a dark brown leather strap for this watch?

Looks amazing I keep thinking of letting mine go, I really love the look of that braclet. I should tet swapping out the original just worried won't be as balanced on the wrist.
