Seiko Men's SNA411 Flight Alarm Chronograph

I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong place, but I have no knowledge about watches. My boyfriend is a pilot, and I'd like to buy him a watch, and after a week of 'internet research', this is what I've come up with.
I know most people here are probably extremely knowledgable, and I'm simply looking for opinions on the watch either from a pilot's point of view, or anyone who's willing to give me some input. I'm sure there's threads on here about this exact watch, but I have no idea where to look.

What are the functional differences between the SNAD05 and SNA411?

According to seikosna411.com, the SNA411 is capable of:
Rule-of-three calculation
Square root calculation
Time, speed and distance calculations
Fuel consumption rate
Fuel quantity required
Remaining cruising time
Climbing altitude, climbing rate, climbing time

Unit conversion scale: Nautical mile, Statute mile, Kilometer, feet, US Gallons, Imperial Gallons, Kilogram, pounds, fuel pounds, oil pounds, miles per hour.


Is it the same case for the snad05?

First off, it's very kind of you to spend all this time looking for a watch for your boyfriend. I'm sure he will be thrilled to receive such a thoughful gift. I think both these watches use Seiko's 7T62 movement, which is a quart chronograph with alarm function. I own an SNAA63 which also runs on this, and it was the watch I wore for my wedding, so you can imagine I have a soft spot for it! The two you mentioned have different cases, but the same thing inside making them run. It is an accurate movement at a very good (IMO) pricepoint. Personally I would suggest you pick whichever one appeals to you visually, since they work the same way. Here's a pic of mine:
