Hi guys, newbie here. I just got my first mechanical watch, Seiko Presage SRBP41J1. I wore it about a day and notice the watch is losing about 10 seconds every hour. I found a website stated the accuracy rating of 4R35 movement is between +45 /-35 seconds per day.

May I know is this accuracy normal or my expectation towards 4R35 movement is abit too high?

This one first.

Fully wind it via the crown and check with a reliable time source over 24hrs.

I use time.is or an Atomic G-Shock or similar that syncs every day.

If you still have the issue, try demagnetizing. I have always understood that magnetized watches run fast, very fast but many here have stated that they have had magnetized watches that run slow so worth a try. The device is $20 or less on Amazon or EBay and worth having anyway if you have even one automatic watch.

Failing all of the above, you have a warranty issue. Hopefully, you will get a positive result and not need any warranty service, etc.

Welcome to WUS!

Is it full wound. Wind the crown 60 turns and report back.

Hi guys, thank you for the valuable inputs. Appreciate it.

The movement is fully wind. It isn't just losing minutes per day. It stops ticking several times in one day while I was wearing it. It was frustrating and I have sent to Seiko for repair. It is under Seiko's warranty. The Seiko shop informed me that the repairment will take approximately 3 months.

I hope to have it back soon in a good state. The dail is a stunner.

Not normal. Magnetized? Hair spring hung up? The two 4rs I had have been some of the most consistent, accurate mechanicals I've owned, excepting a Rolex.
The seller from the Seiko shop did not answered. They send to workshop for checking/repair. My wild guess is the problem of hair spring. I look at the back of the watch case the way it spins looks weird.

The Rolex is amazing bro. Wish I can afford it in future. (y)
